Join our Apex team

We’re looking for experienced auditors who want to play a part in transforming audit quality in UK firms as part of our small, dynamic team.

Are you an experienced audit senior or manager with an eye for detail and looking to take your career in a different direction? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge to help others to apply audit standards in the real world? Maybe you already work in the audit compliance department of your current firm or for a regulatory body. If so, we’d love to talk to you!

What does the role involve?

In this role, you will perform audit quality and compliance reviews and provide training and technical support to our audit firm clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to be involved with technical writing, and advising our clients on audit and accounting queries.

What experience /qualifications are we looking for?

You need to be a qualified ICAEW/ACCA/ICAS accountant with significant audit experience, usually including full review of audit files prior to RI sign-off. Experience of performing ‘hot’ or ‘cold’ audit file reviews is ideal (but not essential). Any experience of specialist audits (charities, academies, pensions, SRA) would be beneficial.

We expect you to demonstrate a reasonable degree of technical proficiency in auditing and financial reporting, but you don’t need to be a technical genius to apply!
We provide lots of training and development opportunities to help you hone your skills and knowledge.

In terms of your personal qualities, we are looking for someone who is:

  • able to provide practical application of current audit standards and regulatory guidance

  • highly organised with the ability to manage your own time

  • an excellent communicator in business English (verbal and written)

  • comfortable working with a variety of firms and audit teams

  • highly motivated and passionate about audit quality with a desire to help firms develop and improve their standards in an efficient and effective way
